- For a recent course on Flash Photography, I had the great good fortune to get to work with Chan Quach, a bird behavioralist. Chan works with owners of exotic birds to help them get these sometimes very difficult animals under control. And he himself has five macaws of several different kinds that he has developed a relationship with and worked with over the years to the point where he's, can get these birds to do pretty amazing things. In addition to being very quiet when they're indoors, when they go outdoors, he can fly them. And getting to see these animals flying in the open air is a spectacular thing. So I took the opportunity to come out and try to shoot them. If you are interested in bird photography, particularly birds in the wild, I can tell you, it's not an easy thing to pull off.
