In this video, author Shaun Bryant explains the use of the Options dialog box with the command line in AutoCAD.
- [Instructor] As usual, we're staying in…the customizing.dwg file, which you can download…from the library to use to follow along…with this particular video, and what we're going to look at…is one last setting where you can customize…your AutoCAD command line window.…Now, when you right click on the mouse…in the drawing area, you'll notice you can go…to options on the shortcut menu, so if I click on options,…that brings up the nice big options dialog box,…I can go in and change settings and so on and so forth.…I'll just cancel that now.…
Now there's a really quick shortcut again…on your command line.…Instead of having to right click and go to options…or perhaps go to the application menu…and select options there or type options…and press enter, you can come down here…to the little spanner or wrench again, click,…and just go options, and there it is there…and it will open up the options in the display tab.…Now the reason it opens in the display tab…is that is where your layout elements are all set up…that you work with on the screen at any given time.…
