- [Instructor] All the security technology in the world won't do us any good, if we don't monitor it. The Cloud brings us some additional challenges when it comes to monitoring. So let's cover a few of the key points from chapter six of the course. First and foremost, we have to remember that Cloud data centers require the same types of monitoring as traditional data centers. If we're the Cloud service provider, we need to monitor capacity, and reallocate workloads in a manner that's transparent to our customers. If we're the Cloud customer, we need to keep a careful eye on the utilization of resources that we purchase in the Cloud, failure to do this can lead to two undesirable situations. First, we might over provision our resources. This means that we purchase more Cloud resources than we need to meet the needs of our workloads.
