- I like to begin with the C major seventh chord, one, three, five and seven of the major scale. And here's a basic voicing. (piano music) Now what I'd like to do, first of all, is sing the scale that fits of the C Major seventh. We'll play it again, (piano music) and sing. (instructor singing scale) Okay? Now, I'd like you to sing the arpeggio. Okay, let's try that one. The arpeggio is... (piano music) Okay? (instructor singing arpeggio) Now that wasn't so hard was it? Now let's try adding the ninth in there now, okay? Let's sing the C major seven arpeggio with the nine. We'll play it first. (piano music) (instructor singing arpeggio) Now, let's play it on our instruments once. Okay, we'll sound the chord. (piano music) (bass music) And now the arpeggio with the ninth.
