Locrian mode

- Okay, the last mode we'll look at is the Locrian Mode. In the derivative approach, you can create the Locrian Mode by starting on the seventh degree of the major scale. So we'll go from B to B within the C major scale. Let's take a listen to this mode. (gentle guitar strings music) In the parallel approach, the Locrian Mode is a major scale with a lowered second, third, fifth, sixth and seventh degrees. So the degrees of the mode are root, flat two, flat three, four, flat five, flat six and flat seven. Here, I have the C Locrian Mode written out. Let's check out the sound of this mode.
