- We all have values. The important things that we hold dear and live by that are instilled in us at a young age. I can remember my parents teaching my sister and I that family comes first, before everyone else. And by family, they meant them, my sister, and all of my aunts, uncles, cousins, and grandparents. That was a lot of people. As a result of this, family is one of the biggest values I have. Think about your values. What are three big ones for you? Write them down somewhere. Try to think about the ones that have not changed since childhood. Those are your strongest values. In this lesson, I will teach you how to listen to someone in order to pick up on what they value. Identifying these values will help you identify what's really driving the conflict. You may see conflict as a problem that you want to get rid of right away.
