If you have a LinkedIn Learning Pro subscription, you will be able to upload your organization's own customized content. In this video, learn how to add linked and uploaded customized content to the LinkedIn Learning platform.
- [Oliver] If your organization has a LinkedIn Learning Pro subscription you'll also have the ability to add your own custom content to the LinkedIn Learning Platform. There are a couple ways to do this, the first is by adding links to online content, third party videos, shared documents, articles, blog posts and more. Up at the top I'm going to hover over the content tab and if you have access to this feature, you'll see here custom content. I'm going to click on that, and this brings us to our custom content page. I don't have any content in here yet, but I can easily add some by clicking on Start now. When I do that it asks if I want to link to content, or upload content. First I'll select link to content, this brings up a pop-up box where we need to enter the relevant information starting with the URL to the link we want to share. Now in another window I have a YouTube video that I want to share with my organization. I'll go ahead and copy the URL and then I'll navigate back to the LinkedIn Learning platform. Here I'll click at the top and paste in that URL. Down below we can enter the content language, we can add skills and you'll notice when I clicked in skills I just quickly want to address what we have up top. It generated a thumbnail as well as a title and description, you have the ability to change these. I can x out of the thumbnail or add a new one by clicking on the camera icon and it gives a suggested image size here, by 600 by 340 pixels. I can edit the title and description. But in this case there did a good job. So now at the bottom I can add skills, and I'm going to add here career development, as well as innovation management. Now down at the bottom you can add custom tags unique to your organization which will make it easier for users to search for and find relative content. Now when I'm done I'm going to click save and publish, and like that I've added our first piece of custom content to the LinkedIn Learning platform. Now only our users will be able to see this, it won't be shared out to a public audience. It will be shared within your organization. Now with a pro subscription, you can also upload your own content, for instance a video or document. Let's take a look at how to do that. Now that we've created content we see a slightly different page, and up here in the top right we have this button that says add content. I'll click on that and instead of link to content, I'm going to click upload content. Here it asks us to choose the file from our computer, I'll go ahead and do that and inside of this custom videos I have a CEO onboarding message, I'll select that, and you can see here that it's now queuing up. It's in the content queue, while it's uploading, I can go to the bottom and click add details, and from here I can add the title which it already has, I'll leave that the same. A description. Down below we can enter in the content language, skills, in this case onboarding, and then any custom tags and one custom tag that we use is onboarding so I'll enter that as well. So it makes it easier to search for. Now up at the top you can also add a thumbnail, and that recommended size is 600 by 340 pixels. When I'm done I'll go ahead and click save, and I've now saved those details. So now we're waiting for this video to upload inside of that content queue. Once it's finished processing it's ready to publish. Now notice it's in our content queue right now but this piece is not inside of our library and it won't be until we publish it. I'm going to go ahead and click on publish and like that you can see that there are now two items in the library. So in the library we have the video that I just uploaded as well as the YouTube video that I linked to, and with custom uploads you can also upload documents, in order to see all of the different content types that you can upload, go to that page and then click to learn more about the different video and document file types that are supported. Take advantage of this feature it's a really neat one, it allows you to add your own custom content to the already powerful LinkedIn Learning Library.
