Import TXT or CSV data into an existing workbook

- [Instructor] Importing data from a text tab delimited file, or a comma separated value file into an existing workbook is very easy to do in Excel 2019. Let's jump right into our import workbook, and go through the steps of importing the information from our merchandise .csv file into our existing worksheet. I'll go ahead and click in cell A7, because that's where I'd like the information to come into the worksheet. Let's go to data, and in our Get and Transform Data group, we have From Text and .CSV. I'll go ahead and click on that, navigate to my chapter two folder, I'll select the merchandise .csv file. Notice it is a text file. Click import. Excel is connecting to that document and giving me a preview of the data that will be imported into my merchandise worksheet. Excel has picked up on my data being separated by a comma. Anywhere there was a comma in the data, a new column has been created. I have the .csv file open, I want to take a look at it before we bring the information…
