How to make yourself practice

- So we're here, on a location, where we've been working on a course, and I've had this camera out and I've been shooting. The location we're at has an incredible view, and there's lots of stuff going on, and-- But still, we came back in and I started to do what I would do at home, which is, well, I'm done with the camera, I'm going to put it away. And then I remembered I shouldn't do that. And it's taken me a while to figure this out, and what actually drove it home was a friend who's a trumpet player, who said it took him 30 years to realize that the best way for him to practice more was to never put his trumpet in the case. And when I asked why, he said, well, just 'cause that extra little bit of work of unzipping the case and folding it open was enough that he would use that as an excuse to not practice. And so I started paying attention to my own practice habits and realized that, you know, sometime I'll think, oh I'm going to walk around town and run some errands. I could take…
