You precede the bad news, the poop, with some good news, the bread, and follow up the filling with some more bread. It's the corporate version of a spoonful of sugar. Now that you too know this delectable recipe, you also know not to bother responding to the first thing your note-giver says. That's just empty carbs. You know, vague stuff like, "You've showed us "some stuff here.", "It gets off to a really strong start", or maybe, "We love the way every sheet of paper "is exactly the same size and shape."
