- I do a lot of practicing with the double bass drum by doing just playing around with a metronome and concentrating on breaking things up and not having these steady 16th notes or 32nd notes or what have you, because to me it gets old, it gets boring and it's not a challenge to me to continue to play that unless the music requires that particular style of playing with double bass drum.
