- Let's start in the top left hand corner of the four corners diagram with capabilities. So the first exercise is I want you to document what capabilities this produces in the person who uses the application. What a capability is is like if I give you a pair of scissors, I now gave you a bunch of capabilities. Fine? - Yeah. - So you can cut things with it. - Oh, what can you do with it, okay. - Right, so you are now capable of doing things you were not capable of before. - Right, okay, yeah. - The core purpose of every design is to modify the capabilities of the person interacting with that design in some way. Think about it, a social media app gives people the capability of posting content about their lives in a public space or connecting with other like-minded people and sharing experiences online.
