Diatonic triads in minor keys

- The method we use to generate diatonic triads in major keys works the same way for minor keys. The main differences are that you build the triad from the minor scale and the series of chord qualities will be different. Here's the A natural minor scale. We'll use only the notes from this scale to construct our diatonic chords. When we add a diatonic third and a fifth to each scale degree, we get the following chords. Our one chord is a minor triad. (gentle guitar strings music) The two chord is a diminished triad. (gentle guitar strings music) The three chord is a major triad. (gentle guitar strings music) The four chord is a minor triad. (gentle guitar strings music) The five chord is also a minor triad. (gentle guitar strings music) The sixth chord is a major triad.
