- Have you ever wondered why sales actually work? They're a psychological trigger to push customers to make a buying decision. When you present a specific fleeting offer in front of a buyer they are more likely to say yes and that's because of a couple reasons. The first being scarcity. We are naturally attracted to things that are scarce. That's why people go to museums to see original pieces of artwork instead of just buying a print or looking at a photo online. We like things that are rare. And the second reason is urgency. When we have an urgent reason to make a decision, we're more likely to make that decision. Otherwise we tend to push things off until there is a reason for us to make a decision right now. So when you create a specific offer, when you make a scarce opportunity that has an urgent deadline to make a decision, customers are more likely to say yes.
