Creating a coordinate system
- [Instructor] In this example, I'm going to be showing you how to create your own custom coordinate system. Now, you're going to use a coordinate system to define where you want the center of your part to be. Now, by default it's right here where the origin is. So right here, the origin's kind of in the middle of the part in a random position, and more than likely we would like to add a coordinate system to some more logical position, so we can then find out things like the center of mass or the moment of inertia. Or if we're going to this for some type of machining operation we might be establishing some type of a work offset at that location. So first things first, I want to come up here to reference geometry and click on the drop down, and come down here to coordinate system. All right, you can see here is the default coordinate system right there at the origin. Now, let's go ahead and create a brand new one. So the first thing I want to do is choose a point, in this case here…
