Controlling dehaze

- [Instructor] Our next control is dehaze. Dehaze is useful because it allows you to deal with environmental issues, such as fog or mist. In this case, this shot is taken near the ocean. So as I adjust this, you see that dehaze, in many ways, acts like a polarizer, increasing the intensity of the sky and the water. Now, it also affects other parts of the image, but if we put this in at a lower value, it tends to look pretty good. I'm going to, in fact, back off clarity a little bit, and put a little more dehaze in. Now, looking at this, I'm pretty satisfied with the water, however, I'm a little concerned about the sky. It's just a bit blue for me. So what I'll do under color here is back off the vibrance just a little bit. Now we've got a natural looking blue sky, but the rich, deep blue here for the ocean, and I like that look better. Remember, with most of these adjustments, it's a bit of give and take.
