- Did you ever play the game telephone when you were a kid? The game starts when one person whispers a sentence in someone's ear, and then that person whispers what they think they heard to the next person, and then they whisper what they think they heard to another person, and so on until everyone has heard something from someone in the group. At the end, the last person shouts out what they heard, only for the original whisperer to confirm that what they said has now turned into a hot mess. It's almost always completely different from the original statement. While this childhood game usually ends in laughter, it illustrates the importance of listening, and then checking for understanding.
