Applying path effects

- [Instructor] PathEffects give you the opportunity to apply creative, non-destructive effects to objects in your ink scapes documents. So let's see how they work. Here are my document. I have a bit of text and some simple paths. And to add PathEffects, I'll choose path, PathEffects, and open the dialogue. Now, if I select my texts, this is live text, and I'm not going to be able to do anything with PathEffects yet. See how the plus is great out here. I can't add a PathEffect yet. First, I need to convert this text to a path. And with it selected, I'll go to the path menu, and choose Object to Path. Now I can click the plus button. And that opens the live PathEffects selector. This is where you can browse or search to find the effect that you want. The effects are organized in rows, alphabetically, and there are a lot of them.
