Aligning and distributing objects

- [Instructor] When you need to arrange objects with precision, eyeballing it isn't good enough. You need the application to do the work of putting things exactly where you want them. And in Inkscape you have an align and distribute dialogue for this. So let's try it out. Here in my document, I have a few sets of objects and I'm going to use these things to show the different options in the align and distribute dialogue. And the exercise file is set up with two layers in it. I'll show the layers dialogue, the one on the bottom, we'll show you the original positions of the objects, after they're moved, so you can compare the before and after effect of each choice. You can open the align and distribute dialogue from the object menu, down here near the bottom, or use the keyboard shortcut Shift Control A, and there are several sets of controls in this dialogue, controls for aligning, distributing, rearranging, removing…
