- [Instructor] When editing images, we can also add additional details in the image for depth and texture. With this image selected, you'll notice that the Edit module tells us that Legacy Settings are in use. This can happen if you bring in an image that was previously edited in an earlier version of Lightroom, like a DNG file. I'll click the Update button, and it updates it to the current Edit module. Let's take advantage of an auto develop first start and then come down here to effects. You'll notice several different controls. Let's start with texture. In this case, texture can add or subtract from the image. Look at the surface of the water and the ripples in particular. You'll also notice it in the rock. This effectively brings out texture where there's detail. What's important to note here is the sky though. If you add a lot of texture, you can see problems appear in other places in the image.
