- [Instructor] Clarity is effectively selective contrast around the edges or objects. So as we adjust this, it starts to increase the contrast at the edges. Notice how it's really emphasizing the contrast there in the rocks. With a negative value, it's a little bit like a blur, but also a loss of contrast. Negative clarity is not used very often, but I can still bump that up pretty high. Looking at the edges of the boat here, the ropes and everything else, I'm pretty happy with it. I want to avoid crushing this though, because it can create halos and extra noise. So I usually keep this a little higher than 50 or so, and that tends to produce a nice effect. Looking at that, we definitely see improved overall contrast in the edges, and I like the overall results.
