This week Bert takes us through the final steps to complete the golden boat medallion by taking last week’s results into the third dimension.
He begins by making a composite of his layers and distorting it to create a sense of depth. Next he duplicates that layer and uses it to paint in an edge to add thickness to the medallion. After painting in the edge to match the reflections of light, he finishes the piece by creating custom brushes to paint in some twinkling lights.
Watch the entire tutorial here at lynda.com, and check back next week for another installment of Pixel Playground.
