In this ZBrush sculpting training lesson, your instructor demonstrates how to begin sculpting the details into the base mesh you created in a previous video using ZSpheres for your scarecrow model’s rope necklace. You will learn how to use the Clay Tubes brush to create the twisted rope shapes.
- [Instructor] In this lesson I'd like to demonstrate…how to create a rope sculpt working from the original…z-spheres that we started with earlier in our course.…I'm going to isolate the band around the neck.…And the first thing I want to do…is increase up my geometry.…Now, this is going to be more of…a brute force attempt at the rope.…
It's something that I would typically use…in a project when I just need to create…a very small piece of rope quickly…without going through the process of…using the insert brush.…So first thing I wanna do here is divide up…and make sure I have at least a good geometry to work from.…Because of the topology that we started with…which was high already,…a level three will actually work for this.…
I'll switch over to my clay tubes again…with the square alpha.…And I'll bring my brush size down.…Now you'll notice I have x symmetry turned on,…which can work, the problem is if I'm sculpting,…rope has a tendency to follow…in a specific direction…and if I use the x symmetry…it's going to end up becoming basically mirrored…
