Join Ryan Kittleson for an in-depth discussion in this video Importing 3D models, part of ZBrush 2020 Essential Training.
- [Instructor] So far, we have looked at how to work … on models that either come with ZBrush … or are already saved in ZBrush format, but very often, … you'll need to bring in models from other sources. … Let's see how ZBrush 2020 makes this even easier. … Okay, so we have a very simple scene right here, … just a plane and a cylinder, … and let's say we want to import another model. … Now, before we go ahead and click on Import, … there's one thing we need to note, … and that is when you import a model … that's not a ZBrush format, … what it does is it replaces … the selected SubTool that you have. … So make you've got your SubTool SubPalette open, … and you'll want to come down to Duplicate … so that when we bring in this new model … it's going to replace the selected one. … Now, if you don't care about the cylinder, … then you can go ahead … and have the new model overwrite this one, … but let's say you care about it, … so let's overwrite the duplicate. … So now, we go up to Import, …
