In this ZBrush sculpting training lesson, your instructor demonstrates how to create the shape and folds for your scarecrow’s handkerchief. You will use the Clay Tubes, Smooth, and MAHcut Mech A brushes to achieve the desired look, and then use the Move tool to adjust the shape to match the concept art.
- I'm now going to move on to the handkerchief…around the scarecrow's neck,…but let's first take a look at the entire project…and see where we're at.…So, so far, everything looks like it's coming along nicely.…We only need to work on the handkerchief now in this area,…so what I'll do is isolate that…and take a good look at the geometry.…It's a pretty simple model,…there's nothing really too complex to the sculpt…except the fact that it is…somewhat of a weighted, folded cloth.…
First thing I want to do, as normal, is go into my geometry…and divide up my divisions.…Again, starting somewhere at a division five,…and switch over to clay tubes,…and once again, just add some basic texture,…just to rough out the initial massing on the model.…
Once again, you can see here,…I restarted ZBrush and every time you do that,…it disables the BackFace Alpha Masking,…so I'm going to just Control+Z back and remove that,…go into my brush setting under automasking…and make sure I turn on BackFaceMask,…and this way, that will eliminate that problem for us.…
