- Now that we have a set of gums, there's a solid base from which to build the teeth. In this video I'll show you how to create new objects extracted from the surface of an existing object. Let's see how it works. Let's go ahead and hide the head for now and the eyeballs, so we're just dealing with the gums. And let's get a nice straight view on the bottom side of these gums here. Now let's get a nice small brush, and what I want to do is mask out seven teeth. Now I'm actually going to turn off symmetry here because I feel like symmetry is just going to get in the way for now, that's just the way I like to work with teeth, do it all on one side and then copy it over later. But what I want to do is hold down control, and let's mask out seven teeth. Let's do one here, one molar, one in the middle, and we'll do two in between, doesn't really matter how perfect they are, they're going to be manipulated and sculpted very much later on.
