There are some times when you want to adjust your sculpt in ZBrush and others when you want to make the adjustments in another 3D modeling program, like Maya. In this ZBrush tutorial, you will learn how to export out all of the subtools for your pirate’s journal at the same time using ZBrush’s SubTool Master so that you can take them into Maya for adjustments.
- [Voiceover] In this lesson I'd like to go over…how to export all of your subtools…out at one time, basically a batch file.…And we'll be working with the SubTool Master.…I'm going to then bring all of my objects…into Maya and re-deform them using a lattice tool.…That will allow me to give the book…that nice, warped feeling.…Once again, here's the concept art.…
So I'm actually going to distort the book…with lattices and then bring all of those assets…back into ZBrush.…As I mentioned in an earlier, previous lesson…I usually do this after I have optimized all of my meshes…for a game asset, so this is something…I typically don't do in ZBrush,…but let's just assume you're working…on an asset that requires it.…This is how I would normally do it.…So I could combine everything in ZBrush now…and actually deform it, but it's much, much harder…to do it that way, you have a lot less control…over how the vertices will react.…
By doing it in Maya I have a lot more control…over the individual components…as well as the individual vertices and faces.…
