Join Eric Keller for an in-depth discussion in this video Can't get rid of blurriness on the mask, part of ZBrush 3 for Windows Essential Training.
When you're using the topology masking feature of the Transpose tool,…you'll notice that it always automatically adds blur to the mask. Now most of the time this is very helpful but sometimes…it might get in the way.…I'm going to demonstrate how to deal with this by working on the demo soldier model. This is one of the models that loads with Zbrush.…He's in Edit mode.…I'm going to mask everything but his arms. To do this I'll switch to the Move…function, which activates Transpose. I'm going to hold Ctrl…and drag on the model.…
Sometimes it's easier if I drag on the shoulder here. There we go. That's better.…And you notice when I let go there's some blurring there.…Blurring is meant to help you out actually because you want a nice smooth transition when you go to…move parts of the model, but in some instances, if you don't want that blurring you can remove it by going to the Masking…sub-palette of the Tool palette…and click on SharpenMask.…That will remove that blur.…If you want to control the amount of blurring globally…
