- Okay, video posted. Time to grab a coffee. - Ah, what is this? A perfectly innocent video I can troll? Mua-ha-ha-ha! Oh, wait. Where are my glasses? Oh, here we go. (mid-tempo music) - Replying to YouTube comments is one of the best ways to build your fan base and encourage viewers to subscribe. It shows both viewers and YouTube that you're active and responsive on the site. But sometimes, internet trolls can take over. (grunting) So here are five tips on how you can best reply to and manage comments. Number one, when you release a video, make sure you're quickly replying to comments within the first 24 hours. This is one of the peak times for both views and comments, so it's crucial you're engaging with them in real time. Number two, don't feed the trolls. What this basically means is that while it's tempting, don't reply to negative comments. (confused grunt) When you reply to negative comments, you're feeding the trolls, and giving the negative commenters just what they want…
