Learn how to build your first iOS app with Xamarin.iOS. Discover how to code the UI, add controls, and program behaviors.
- [Helen] Hello and welcome to Introduction to Xamarin.iOS, presented by the team at Microsoft. My name is Helen Miller and I'm a content developer at Microsoft with Xamarin University, and I'll be guiding you through the foundations of building iOS applications in C# using Xamarin. You'll also hear from my colleagues Jesse Dietrichson, another content developer for Xamarin University, and Adrian Stevens. Adrian is a senior content developer and the curriculum lead for Xamarin University. The first step in becoming a Xamarin.iOS developer is getting an app up and running.
In this course, we're going to take you through the entire development process. You'll create a new project in Visual Studio, code the user interface and behavior, build the project, and test it in an iPhone simulator. As you build your app, you'll learn about the model view controller design pattern and all about protocols and delegates in iOS. We'll be guiding you through a series of videos and exercises where you can apply what you've learned. We've also provided completed solutions for you to use so you can check your work. By the end of this course, you'll be able to code a basic iOS application with views and behavior written in C# using Visual Studio and Xamarin, giving you a solid foundation in getting started with using Xamarin.iOS.
