- [Instructor] As your release day draws closer and your nerves are becoming more and more afraid, a lot of exciting things will start to happen. You'll most likely be assigned an in-house publicist. This is the person who is in charge of the publicity campaign for your book, and the person who is going to make sure everyone who needs to know about your book does more about it. If you're not told who your publicist is approximately five to six months before your book releases, make sure to ask your editor. Also, about five to six months before your book releases, you should receive a copy of your marketing plan. These are all the things your publisher intends to do to market your book. Once again, if you don't receive one, make sure to ask your editor for a copy. Or if you feel uncomfortable asking, have your agent do it for you.
