- As I always say to you, you know, cultivate a no-nonsense mindset when it comes to writing. This allows you to pick up on things that you're saying, or ways of saying things that are unnecessarily sort of flabby and not strictly necessary to say. So this is something which you know, something could appear as though it's necessary to say, but on second glance, you kind of think, actually , no I don't need to say that much about it. So, I'll give you an example, take a look at this sentence. Peter Jones, chief evangelist and head of retail marketing services at Starfish, said the company was expecting higher sales this year. Now, the reason why I'm pointing this out, is because on the face of it, it looks like it's important, I need to say who this person is, Peter Jones, he's chief, this is his job title, chief evangelist and head of retail marketing services at Starfish, and he said the company was expecting higher sales.
