- Okay, so we've looked at how to tighten sentences, how to sharpen them. Now there's a question I get asked a lot is how to create rhythm with sentences? So rhythm is a very important subject, and it's a very difficult one to explain, but I want you to begin to get this idea. Now, there are many different ways to go at a sentence. Like there are different ways that create different varying rhythms and you want to know what your rhythmic options are so that you can bring some of that variety into your writing. It just makes the sentence construction... Playing around with the sentence constructions just gives that extra dimension. Now there's three basic ways that I can think of which allow you to play around with the rhythm of your sentences. Now, the first thing is the length of sentences. You can play around long and short, simple as that. You know, you've got a long sentence, you've got a short sentence. That gives rhythm. The second thing is you can play around with the…
