- [Instructor] Once your book is finished with copyediting, it goes through the wonderful transformation of taking your manuscript pages and turning them into book pages. Meaning an interior design of your book will be created, a font will be chosen, the text will be spaced, the chapter titles or numbers will be stylized, and the page numbers will be added. It will start to look like the pages of a book for the first time, which is a very exciting transformation and always one of my favorite parts of the process. The first time you'll see this transformation in action is when you receive what's called your first pass pages, also referred to as proof pages or interior pages. First pass pages are the actual pages that will eventually be printed and bound together to form your book. They're created as a way for you and your editor, as well as various proofreaders, to review the book before it's finished. Hence, the alternative name, proof pages.
