- Okay now, guys, it's possible to create subtle shifts of emphasis within sentences. Staying on this sort of sentence level of the narrative. Subtle shifts that can affect comprehension quite dramatically, you know? The idea is, consider the difference here, okay? Take a look at this example. French officials are investigating whether the mastermind died during the raids. At first sight, that looks okay, right? But it's slightly ambiguous. There's two possible interpretations here. Like are French officials investigating whether the person died while the raids were taking place? Or whether it was the mastermind, and not someone else who died during the raids. And this is the kind of thing that you might miss when you're writing it. But you might catch it later when you're reading it, taking that printout and going, oh, you know it jars with you when you're reading with a fresh eye. You might then catch it.
