Challenge: Revise a quickstart guide
- Let's apply what you've learned. These instructions appear in the local school districts quick start guide to budgeting, and they need a lot of work. These instructions definitely not follow the writing practices for writing instructions that you've learned in chapter three. You're challenge is to revise these instructions so they are much easier to read and follow. Here are some ways you can revise them. Address your reader directly using you or the imperative form. Add headings to group the instructions into smaller sets. Move supplementary information such as notes to before the actual instruction. Begin each step with a verb. After you've completed your revisions to these poorly written instructions, watch the solution video and download the solution handout to compare your revisions to mine.
