- Okay so in this lecture I want to consider whether we can make the piece come alive a little bit more. And it's what I call adding evocativeness to the writing. It's what makes the difference between a dry piece of writing and one that's more really just colorful. And this is done mainly with imagery and evocative and lively words to replace other ones that are less so. Now you don't want to overdue this or it looks cheap. Just throw in a bit of evocative language where possible, to add life and color to it. So some of it is already there, like in the intro, guzzle and quench their thirst and so on it's quite evocative it's highly visual, right? But let's see if we can do a little bit more of that in places. Look especially for places where you can convert dry technical words into more colorful ones. As I say don't overdue it so that it becomes too obvious or self conscious as if you've just flicked through a thesaurus or something. Instead you want to try and just sneak it in. Have…
