- [Voiceover] Hi, I'm Morten Rand-Hendriksen, staff author at Lynda.com, and I'd like to welcome you to WordPress Plugins: Advanced Custom Fields. In this course we'll take a dive into the Advanced Custom Fields plugin, and explore how it allows us to add new types of content to our posts, pages, and custom post types. To start off, I'll explain what custom fields are, and why you need advanced custom fields. Then, I'll walk you through how to set up your own advanced custom fields, and display their content on the front-end of your site.
I'll also show you some advanced examples of how to connect posts together with relational fields, and finally we'll look at how to move advanced custom fields from a development site to a live site on the web. Advanced Custom Fields is a plugin that breaks the rigid content frames of WordPress to allow you to work with your content in new and more advanced ways. So let's get crackin' with WordPress Plugins: Advanced Custom Fields.
