In this video, learn what you should be familiar with before taking this course, such as installing WordPress, creating content, and installing plugins and themes. Basic knowledge of HTML is also helpful.
- [Instructor] This course approaches accessibility on the web through the lens of WordPress. However, the concepts we discuss apply to any website. Whether you're an experienced WordPress developer or have never used WordPress before, you will learn the fundamentals of making websites usable by people with disabilities. You'll be aided in the WordPress focus of the course by a familiarity with WordPress, including installing seams and plugins. But this experience is not required to gain valuable knowledge about accessibility. Some knowledge of HTML, CSS, and JavaScript will be useful to you as the building blocks of accessible websites are found in these technologies. The fundamentals of accessibility are about the user experience. How visitors to your website see and experience your content. This knowledge is applicable on any platform.
