What is this course about?

- If you've watched any of my other WordPress courses here at lynda.com, this course is a bit different. I've created it as a direct response to one of the most common types of questions I get from you, the viewers. How do I put all these different things I've learned together into a structured workflow? When starting a WordPress project, whether it be building a blog to publish content, altering the appearance of your site with a child theme, or designing and building a website from scratch, there are many components that need to be juggled and managed.

You have to manage your domain and hosting, WordPress itself, the content that will go on the site, your designs, and the theme and plugins you'll be working with. While you can go organize these components in any way you want and still end up with a fully functional solution, organizing them in a logical order will make your project quicker, more efficient and, well, more organized. And that's what this course sets out to do. Provide you with structured workflows for different scenarios so you can put your creativity and your knowledge to use in the quickest and most efficiently organized way.

So, this is not an in-depth course but rather a leisurely walk through the landscape, where I draw your attention to various points of interest and show you how they all fit together. Throughout the course I'll refer to other courses available in the lynda.com library for further exploration and where required, I'll show you quick demos of specific elements and techniques. For more in-depth looks at each of the topics, you can dive into one of the many courses referenced.
