Got a WordPress site that's overrun with spam? Learn how to clean it out by deleting the spam straight from the database.
(light music) - [Voiceover] Hi I'm Morton Rand-Hendriksen, staff author at Lynda.com. And I'm excited to welcome you to WordPress Developer Tips: Deleting Spam from the Databsase. In this advanced developer course, we'll look at how you can use simple sequel queries to delete spam and other types of comments directly from the database, without having to go through the Wordpress admin interface. We'll start out by looking at how you can protect your site from ever getting a spam problem.
Then I'll walk you through the process of identifying the different types of content within the database you need to change. We'll run queries on the different tables to first delete the comments and then delete comment's meta. And finally, I'll show you some different queries you can use to target different types of comments, either published, pending, trashed, or spam. So let's get cracking with Wordpress Developer Tips: Deleting Spam from the Database.
