- [Instructor] I've run a crawl for saltandsimple.com using Screaming Frog and I've selected the images tab and we can see here all of the image sizes that are showing up within this crawl. Now, I want to see what type of improvement we can get by using a plugin to handle this optimization for us. I've toggled back over to our WordPress dashboard and I'm going to select plugins in the bottom left-hand corner, and then add new. One of the most popular tools to compress images within WordPress is Smush. So I'll do a search for Smush, and here we can see Smush Image Optimization and as you can see, there's over a million active installations, this is an incredibly popular tool, it's been well tested and it beats the competition in almost every comparison.
