Join Morten Rand-Hendriksen for an in-depth discussion in this video Securing your site, part of WordPress DIY: Weddings and Special Events.
Before we wrap up, there is one pesky little…problem we need to address,…and that is security.…Security in Wordpress comes at two levels.…One is at the login level, where people try to…log into your site, even though…they don't have an account.…The other one comes at spam level,…where people try to leave spam comments…on your site that either has malicious content…or links to things you don't want to link to.…Now, both of them can be dealt with using plugins,…and for this particular site, that becomes…very important because once you have open…registration forum, there are bots on the internet…that deliberately look specifically for Wordpress…sites with open registration forums,…and once they find them, it'll try to get…into those sites and take them over.…
Now, the chance of that actually happening…on your site and someone actually being able…to take it over is almost zero, especially if you…install the plugin I'm going to talk about in a second,…but it's a real concern that you have to keep in…mind when you set up a site like this.…
