Join Morten Rand-Hendriksen for an in-depth discussion in this video Plug and play and beyond, part of WordPress Essential Training.
- If you ask me, one of the main reasons why so many people turn to WordPress as their chosen web publishing platform is that it's the closest thing you can get to plug and play. As you've seen so far, getting a WordPress site up and running, creating contents, even changing the site appearance and behavior can be learned quickly and becomes almost intuitive once you get going. What makes people stay with WordPress is that it goes beyond plug and play. Once you get your bearings and know how to master content, presentation, and behavior, you can dive deeper into its core and take control of the inner workings to further customize the experience both for yourself and your visitors.
In this chapter, we'll look at the settings of WordPress from language to reading and writing to categories and media.
