Migrating a live site to local
- [Instructor] With a local development environment created, it's time to figure out how we're going to test our child theme. The best way to test is with real content. And if you're working on your child theme from an existing site, great. We can move that content right over. There are two popular ways to migrate content between WordPress sites. WordPress's import/export function, and WP Migrate DB. Let's take a quick look at both. The first is by using WordPress's built-in functionality. You can go to Tools, Export, and download an XML file of all of your content. Then you can go to your local site to Tools, Import. You'll see there are a number of tools available here in different platforms, but we're going to install the WordPress importer. Once that's installed, we can run the importer, and upload our XML file. Then we'll click Upload file and Import, fill out the options on the form, and click Submit. This will…
