Importing and exporting your data

- The last area of this Plug-in to point out is the Tools area. If we hover over CPT UI and click on Tools, you'll see we have the ability to Import and Export Post Types and Taxonomies. This Plug-in uses both JSON and PHP for exporting and JSON for importing. Both Post Types and Taxonomies have their own tabs. So we can grab the export JSON individually for each. With the export JSON, each individual Post Type or Taxonomy is wrapped in JSON, but it's all in the same export field. So you can choose to copy all of it, or select individual exports. To import JSON, paste the JSON from the export field into the import field on the new site. It's important to note that if we do import JSON through this Plug-in, it will overwrite previously registered settings. If we go to the Get Code tab, you can find PHP generated for the Post Types and Taxonomies we registered. The first box includes all custom Post Type code that's generated.
