If you're hearing contradicting information on how to create a child theme, always refer to WordPress dot org. As standards change, they'll keep this page up to date, and you'll know the latest conventions by following these instructions. Now that we've selected our parent theme, and we've installed it, we're ready to start creating our child theme. I want to view my WordPress site in my code editor. We can do this by opening the folder that contains all the WordPress files and then dropping it onto the Adam app icon. So I'll click here to open the folder. I'll minimize this. I'll go into Topsy Turvy Cake Design. Go onto app. And public contains all of the files for our WordPress site. So I'll drop public onto the Adam app icon.
