Challenge: Create an events post type - WordPress Tutorial
From the course: WordPress: Custom Post Types and Taxonomies
Challenge: Create an events post type
(upbeat music) - [Instructor] Now that you've watched how a custom post type is created within Word Press, it's your turn to create your own. Using what you've learned, I want you to create your own post type for events. And we'll want to have all the furnishings that we had for businesses. Name it Events. Make sure the block editor is enabled. Create the appropriate rewrite rules with the has front setting set. Add a custom menu icon of your choice. And be sure to include custom labels where appropriate. This challenge should take you no more than five minutes to complete. And if you look at the existing code, as well as the register post type documentation on the Word Press codex, you should have all the information you need to complete the challenge. Once you do complete the challenge, you can view the next movie where I show you the solution.
