- [Carrie] Using a CDN is just one way to improve your site's speed. If you're trying to speed up your website, and I hope you are, a CDN is just one part of a bigger site optimization strategy. I'd like to quickly highlight some additional ways you can optimize your site for speed. For starters, you want to go with a reputable web host. I personally prefer managed WordPress hosts. The quality of your hosting definitely impacts speed. And then fonts. Fonts typically come in a variety of weights. For example, light, medium, and bold styles, regular and italics. Each variation you add to your site increases page load time. So just be aware of that and use fonts consistently across your site. Next, there's image compression.
