Welcome

- Hello, I'm Morten Rand-Hendriksen, and welcome to Start with a Theme: Photo Portfolios. In this course, I'll show you how to quickly and easily build and manage a photo portfolio site using WordPress and two free themes. We'll start by setting up WordPress itself to function as a portfolio site. We'll download and activate an advanced photo portfolio theme and customize it to look and function the way we want, and we'll download and customize a second, completely different photo portfolio theme to provide you with two great alternatives both in terms of look and functionality for your site.

This course is meant as a primer to get you up and running with your own photo portfolio site powered by WordPress. It requires no coding skills on your part, but it does require that you have a self-hosted WordPress site to work with. If this is your first time working with WordPress, or you're unfamiliar with the application, I recommend you go check out the WordPress 3 Essential Training course right here on Lynda.com. Now, let's build a photo portfolio site with WordPress, starting with a theme.
